Relief

Southeastern Amazon International Center

In 2017 the Center has added relief as one of its core missions in response to the heavy rains and the damage they created in the northern areas of Peru. The Tambopata region has been experiencing the effects of climate change and there is a potential risk of severe flooding in the area. Our Center is ramping up our efforts to provide assistance to the region as first responders in case a catastrophic event occurs. Providing first aid, medicine, food, and drinking water to affected areas, our goal is to be prepared for these situations if the need arises.

In addition, the Center will assist regional and government associations with the implementation of temporary shelters and resettlement when needed, distribution of medicine, vaccinations, and other medical attention. Working together we will serve the local community in these capacities.
